Actors who will make a comeback in 2016

So you have the usual fare of films in the year ahead. And yes, you also have a few actors returning to the big screen. Take a look at who are trying their luck a second (or in some case, third) time.

Preity Zinta

Yeah, yeah, we know what you’re thinking – didn’t she make her comeback in 2013 with Ishkq In Paris? Well, that tanked at the box-office. But the dimpled actress hasn’t lost hope. After lying low for the last 2 years (apart from a cameo in Happy Ending), Preity is back to reading scripts and has even rounded off on one. A word of advice, darling – select your scripts more carefully and you won’t need to make repeated ‘comebacks’.

Bobby Deol

You must have seen him sporting a full-bearded look, cheering at Celebrity Cricket League. Well, now cricket’s gonna be dialled down as the actor will focus on his comeback film, Changez. Based on the life of Genghis Khan, the film will be produced by Sunny Deol and we hear, Sunny is looking into all the details of his brother’s comeback vehicle.

Fardeen Khan

We’re sure most girls will remember Fardeen Khan (not for his acting skills though). The good-looking actor, who was last seen in Dulha Mil Gaya, has been away from the big screen for over five years now. In his own words, he was “focusing on his family”.

Family time done, Fardeen is now looking at returning to Bollywood. We hear, he has already zeroed in on his next, which he wants to make under his home production.

Diana Penty

Now this one’s a little awkward. Diana is making a comeback with her second film itself – yep, the girl hasn’t had a single release since her debut film Cocktail in 2012. We wonder what went wrong. You see, Diana’s performance was much appreciated in Cocktail, but that didn’t translate into big film offers. Bad luck! Anyway, the leggy lass will be seen in Aanand L Rai’s production Happy Bhaag Jaayegi opposite Abhay Deol this year.

Pooja Bhatt

Last seen on screen in the 2001 release Everybody Says I’m Fine, Pooja then moved to filmmaking. Well, after giving us films like Paap and Jism 2, she is now all set to return to acting with Reema Kagti’s Mr Chaalu. Reports suggest that her role is of a no-nonsense woman – kinda fits the bill, no?
